Softball Game Preview: Cleveland Storm vs. Rio Rancho Rams

The Cleveland Storm will challenge the Rio Rancho Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland will be strutting in after a win while Rio Rancho will be coming in after a loss.

Cleveland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Volcano Vista, who was ranked 24th at the time (Cleveland was ranked 25th). The Storm never let the Hawks get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Storm as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cleveland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Yazzie, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Rio Rancho was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to La Cueva.

Cleveland's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Rio Rancho, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
