Basketball Game Preview: Payson Longhorns vs. Gilbert Christian Knights

The Payson Longhorns will take on the Gilbert Christian Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Payson lost 60-37 to Northwest Christian on Saturday. The Longhorns have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Gilbert Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over the Sabercats.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Gilbert Christian, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Payson was taken down by Gilbert Christian 83-39 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gilbert Christian's Jace Olson, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
