Softball Game Preview: Ouachita Parish Lions vs. Holy Savior Menard Eagles

The Ouachita Parish Lions will challenge the Holy Savior Menard Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

While Ouachita Parish didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over Bastrop on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Ouachita Parish got a massive performance out of Madisyn Lenard, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rheagan Montgomery, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Ouachita Parish always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, everything went Holy Savior Menard's way against Mamou on Thursday as Holy Savior Menard made off with an 11-2 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Demons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Holy Savior Menard's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Ouachita Parish, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Ouachita Parish beat Holy Savior Menard 13-9 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Ouachita Parish have another victory up their sleeve, or will Holy Savior Menard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
