Baseball Game Preview: Morehead Panthers vs. Trinity Bulldogs

The Morehead Panthers will take on the Trinity Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Morehead took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Leadership Academy 14-1. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Zachary Grogan was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grogan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jacob Sands was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Judson Friese, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Trinity put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against West Davidson by a score of 6-2.

Morehead pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
