Softball Recap: Columbine Rebels vs. Lakewood Tigers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbine). They put the hurt on the Lakewood Tigers with a sharp 17-4 victory on Friday. Considering the Rebels have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Nina Vargas was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, she also racked up three hits, the mostshe's had since back in October of 2023. Ari Keiter was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Columbine lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood didn't launched any.
Columbine is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Lakewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.
As of now, neither Columbine nor Lakewood have any future games scheduled.
