Volleyball Recap: Rancho Alamitos Takes a Loss

Rancho Alamitos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Estancia Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-27, 22-25, 26-24, 28-26, 15-13.

Rancho Alamitos' defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Estancia, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rancho Alamitos will take on rival Santiago at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Estancia is set to face off against their familiar foe Bolsa Grande at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
