Volleyball Recap: Cotopaxi Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cotopaxi was the 3-1 winner over South Park when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates lost 3-0 to the Burros on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pirates have suffered against the Burros since October 6, 2016.

Cotopaxi was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-10.

Hayden Eggleston paced Cotopaxi's offense, picking up seven kills. Eggleston got some help from Illiana Herrera and her three assists. Finally, Eggleston was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Cotopaxi's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8. As for South Park, their win ended a six-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10.

Cotopaxi has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Centennial on the 11th. As for South Park, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cripple Creek-Victor at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
