Preview: South Delta Bulldogs vs. West Bolivar Eagles
The South Delta Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the West Bolivar Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Bolivar took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on South Delta, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, South Delta got themselves on the board against Leland, but Leland never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cubs 46-0 at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for South Delta as it put an end to theirthree-game losing streak.
South Delta can attribute much of their success to Marvin Powell, who gained 116 total yards and a touchdown, and JaMichael Green, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Dekevion Miller, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Meanwhile, West Bolivar came up short against West Tallahatchie on Friday and fell 18-6.
South Delta's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 3-5. West Bolivar has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first eight matches, which leaves them at a 2-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for South Delta against West Bolivar when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 60-14 victory. Does South Delta have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Bolivar turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
