Baseball Recap: Adams City Takes a Loss

If Adams City was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Overland on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles lost 14-4 to the Skyline Falcons on Saturday.

Christian Ramirez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Ramirez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Ramirez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Adams City's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Skyline, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-13-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adams City will take on Thornton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a 20-game losing streak. As for Skyline, they are taking a road trip to challenge Holy Family at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
