Flag Football Recap: Murrieta Mesa Comes Up Short Despite Aiyana Williams' Big Defensive Game + How To Watch

Murrieta Mesa fell victim to Temecula Prep and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 19-0 to the Patriots. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even if they lost, Murrieta Mesa's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Aiyana Williams. She also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Temecula Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amina Antoine out in front who threw for 172 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 128 yards on only nine carries. Antoine also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making two total tackles and defending five passes in addition to snagging an interception. Another pass catcher making a difference was Bailey Litt, who picked up 93 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Murrieta Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Temecula Prep, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Coming up, Murrieta Mesa will face off against Temecula Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Bears will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Temecula Prep, they will take on California Military Institute at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
