Basketball Recap: Bland Comes Up Short

Bland was the 48-33 winner over Tom Bean when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bland Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 51-50 to the Tom Bean Tomcats. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tom Bean got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maguire Poole out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Poole a new career-high. Chase Stratton was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Bland's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Tom Bean, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bland will square off against Celeste at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Bland is facing Celeste at the right time seeing as Celeste is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tom Bean, they will take on Trenton at 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
