Soccer Game Preview: Briarwood Christian vs. Westminster School at Oak Mountain

The Briarwood Christian Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Westminster School at Oak Mountain Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Briarwood Christian's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Briarwood Christian saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of Dothan by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Westminster School at Oak Mountain had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Montevallo 8-0.

Westminster School at Oak Mountain's offense was hitting Montevallo from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Vale Richie led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Briarwood Christian now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Westminster School at Oak Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything went Briarwood Christian's way against Westminster School at Oak Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Briarwood Christian made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Briarwood Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
