Basketball Recap: Somerset Takes a Loss

Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Penn Cambria Panthers 78-47. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-21.

Somerset lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kellan Hagans, who posted nine points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Speelman, who scored six points.

Even though they lost, Somerset was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 13 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Penn Cambria to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Strittmatter, who had 11 points and five rebounds. Jackson Rice also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Penn Cambria, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8.

Somerset does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Penn Cambria, they have already played their next matchup, a 76-49 win against Mount Union on the 18th.
