Baseball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Raton last Thursday, Pojoaque Valley came back down to earth. The Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes lost 15-3 to the Capital Jaguars on Tuesday. If the Elks/Elkettes were looking for revenge after losing 13-6 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jose Lujan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Torres, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Pojoaque Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Capital, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Capital beat Pojoaque Valley by a score of 3-2 later that day.
