Volleyball Recap: Pittsfield Comes Up Short

Pittsfield lost against Centralia back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Saukees fell just short of the Orphans by a score of 2-1.

Sophie Gengler paced Pittsfield's offense, picking up seven kills. Gengler got some help from Lincoln McCartney and her 16 assists. McCartney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Centralia can attribute much of their success to Hattie Castleman, who had 11 digs and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Castleman a new career-high.

Pittsfield's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Centralia, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Pittsfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Highland on the 11th. As for Centralia, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Carbondale on the 11th.
