It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Gateway Eagles had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 59-48 win over the Wildcats. Winning may never get old, but Gateway sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Christopher Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tavian Cook, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Gateway is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Estero, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-14.
