Softball Recap: Gorton Wolves vs. Varsity Opponent
Gorton lost against Varsity Opponent back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gorton Wolves took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent. Gorton has not had much luck with Varsity Opponent recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Tiara Kidd was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Najaylie Cabeza, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Gorton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Varsity Opponent, their win ended an 18-game drought on the road and puts them at 19-63-1.
Gorton will square off against Saunders Trades & Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to challenge Autaugaville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Autaugaville will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
