Basketball Recap: Morrill Lions vs. Leyton Warriors
Morrill unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 66-17 loss at the hands of the Leyton Warriors. The Lions lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 52-49 score last time.
Kaden Morales was Morrill's leading scorer, having posted four points. Jackson Adkins held things down on the boards with four rebounds.
Leyton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alec Watchorn, who shot 62% from the field to rack up 17 points and five rebounds. Kaleb Miller was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
Morrill has already played their next contest, a 63-13 defeat against Potter-Dix on the 5th. As for Leyton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-51 loss against Kimball on the 5th.
