Baseball Recap: Pitman Takes a Loss

Pitman couldn't beat Mastery on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Panthers fell 12-9 to the Warrior.

Carter Snyder put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Pitman: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Logan Williams and Kiernan Clark stepped up to the plate in a big way. Williams went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Clark got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Pitman is 4-1 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

Pitman's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Mastery, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Pitman will challenge Timber Creek Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mastery has already played their next contest (against Camden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
