Baseball Game Preview: Bartram Trail Bears vs. Hagerty Huskies

The Bartram Trail Bears will take on the Hagerty Huskies in a tournament on Friday. Bartram Trail has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Bartram Trail is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Viera by a score of 16-15 on Thursday.

Bartram Trail got a massive performance out of Landon Tippie, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Tippie a new career-high in RBI. Jonathan Bay was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Meanwhile, Hagerty made easy work of Beachside on Thursday and carried off a 14-4 win.

A. Kearney was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of B. Levy, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Hagerty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hagerty's record is now 14-2. As for Bartram Trail, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bartram Trail has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hagerty struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Bartram Trail couldn't quite get it done against Hagerty when the teams last played back in May of 2022 as they fell 6-3. Can Bartram Trail avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
