Recap: Ansonia Chargers vs. Kennedy Eagles
The Ansonia Chargers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Kennedy 70-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Irving Rivera. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivera has scored all season. Terrance Morrison was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Ansonia and bumps their season record up to 4-4. As for Kennedy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 3-7.
Ansonia will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against O'Brien RVT at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. O'Brien RVT is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Kennedy will take on Wolcott at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Wolcott is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
