Baseball Game Preview: Forbush Falcons vs. North Surry Greyhounds

The Forbush Falcons will head out to challenge the North Surry Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forbush is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season.

Forbush took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on West Wilkes with a sharp 13-5 win. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Forbush got a massive performance out of Dylan McClamrock, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Forbush is undefeated when McClamrock posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Moxley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

McClamrock wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Forbush kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, North Surry hadn't done well against East Surry recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. North Surry skirted past East Surry 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Greyhounds have posted since April 24, 2024.

The win snapped North Surry's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. As for Forbush, their record is now 6-2.

Forbush took their victory against North Surry when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forbush since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
