Basketball Recap: Holt's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Holt can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They managed a 54-48 win over the Lansing Catholic Cougars. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rams' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Cougars are ranked 116th).

Despite the loss, Lansing Catholic still got an impressive performance from Drew Tolfree, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 21 points and three steals. Tolfree is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Hahnenberg, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Holt's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6. As for Lansing Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Holt will be playing in front of their home fans against Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lansing Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against Eaton Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
