David Scariano leads Imperial to victory over Central

Recap: Imperial Tigers vs. Central Spartans

The Imperial Tigers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came out on top against Central by a score of 66-53. For Imperial, this counts as revenge for the 67-66 defeat Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

David Scariano was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Marc Vitela, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Central had strong showings from Jared Martin, who scored 19 points, and James Tovar, who scored 18 points. It was the first time this season that Tovar scored 15 or more points. Daimaggio Wyatt was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Imperial is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-15 record this season. As for Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-12.

Imperial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they and Southwest EC will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Central is facing Southwest EC at the right time seeing as Southwest EC is stuck on a 21-game losing streak.
