Basketball Recap: Akiak Falls to Akiachak in First Game of Season

Akiak unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt an 81-38 defeat at the hands of the Akiachak Huskies on Friday. The Thunderbolts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Akiachak beat Akiak by a score of 70-45 on Saturday.
