Softball Game Preview: Parry McCluer Yosemite Sam vs. Eastern Montgomery Mustangs

The Parry McCluer Yosemite Sam are taking a road trip to square off against the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Parry McCluer is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Parry McCluer's offense. They lost 22-0 to Rockbridge County on Tuesday.

Grayson County hit Eastern Montgomery with a six-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 12-6. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Macie Akers and Kenzie Dunbar stepped up to the plate in a big way. Akers went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles, while Dunbar went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Rena Chandler, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Eastern Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Parry McCluer, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Parry McCluer might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Eastern Montgomery when the teams last played back in March. Can the Yosemite Sam avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
