The Los Altos Eagles will head out to challenge the Mountain View Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Altos is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Los Altos took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Wilcox. The Eagles have beaten the Chargers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Chargers has come to flipping the script.

Kaylyn Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Makayla Mase was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Monica Oseguera also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Homestead, falling 6-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered against the Mustangs since April 8, 2022.

Mountain View now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Los Altos, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Mountain View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Los Altos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. It's a different story for Mountain View, though, as they've only averaged .246. Will they be able to contain Los Altos' hitters?

Los Altos suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Mountain View in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
