Baseball Recap: Alexander Central Comes Up Short

Alexander Central lost against South Caldwell back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Spartans, falling 15-8. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sawyer Chapman-Mays was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Graham Hoke was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Alexander Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for South Caldwell, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Alexander Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Hibriten at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Caldwell will face off against rival Ashe County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
