Football Recap: Palm Harbor University Falls Short of Plant in the Playoffs

Palm Harbor University and Plant squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Palm Harbor University had to settle for second. They fell 20-13 to the Panthers. The Hurricanes' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Palm Harbor University didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Grace VanGessel and Avery Ike. VanGessel also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Reese Pittman was the offensive standout of the match as she threw for 208 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 32 yards. What's more, she racked up 90.3 passer rating, the most she's had since back in February.

Palm Harbor University's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Plant, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Palm Harbor University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Plant, they will take on Alonso at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 30.5 points per game this season.
