Basketball Preview: Lawrence Golden Tornadoes vs. Malverne Mules
The Lawrence Golden Tornadoes will head out on the road to take on the Malverne Mules at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lawrence is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Thursday, Lawrence came up short against the Rams and fell 44-35. Lawrence has struggled against the Rams recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Malverne, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-45 loss to the Quakers on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Malverne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 589th, while the Quakers are ranked 171st).
Lawrence's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Malverne, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Lawrence took a serious blow against the Mules in their previous meeting back in January, falling 69-37. Can Lawrence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
