Baseball Recap: Eagle Has No Trouble Against Capital

Eagle barely beat Capital the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 20-9 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Ames looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Swanstrom, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, six RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Easton Gothberg was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Eagle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Eagle's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Capital, they dropped their record down to 11-16 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Eagle has already played their next game (against Owyhee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Capital does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
