Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Lions vs. Mira Loma Matadors

Having just played yesterday, the Valley Christian Lions will jump right back in to play the Mira Loma Matadors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Valley Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 100-80 margin over Victory Christian on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted since February 6th.

Valley Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Becker out in front who went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Becker a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Grexton, who posted 13 points and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Mira Loma entered their tilt with Trinity Christian on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They had just enough and edged the Eagles out 55-52.

With the win, Valley Christian broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Mira Loma, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Valley Christian suffered a grim 75-54 defeat to Mira Loma in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Valley Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
