Basketball Recap: Walsh Comes Up Short

Walsh lost against Springfield back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles took a 37-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Walsh saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grady Mundell posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Springfield was led to victory by Rhett Bray and Coltin Woodhouse. Bray had nine points, while Woodhouse scored ten points.

Walsh's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Springfield, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Walsh won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kit Carson at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Springfield, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cheyenne Wells at 2:00 p.m. on January 10, 2026.
