Softball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

If Washington was riding high fresh off their 22-9 takedown of Clover Park last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots came up short against the Franklin Pierce Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 24-14. Even though they lost, the Patriots' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Jaz Boggan stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Suresa Letoi was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Washington's record now sits at 3-9. As for Franklin Pierce, they moved to 4-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Washington will face off against Steilacoom at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
