Basketball Recap: CHAAMP Homeschool's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of six wins, CHAAMP HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 71-55 bruising from the Daingerfield Tigers. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2018.

When it comes to explaining why CHAAMP HomeSchool lost, don't look at David Harrison. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 13 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds. Harrison is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Hefner, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, CHAAMP HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

CHAAMP HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Daingerfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. CHAAMP HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Avery at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Daingerfield will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Hooks at 1:15 p.m. on December 31st.
