Volleyball Game Preview: Sunrise Mountain Miners vs. Las Vegas Wildcats

Sunrise Mountain hasn't had much luck against Las Vegas recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Sunrise Mountain came up short against Somerset Academy Losee on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas didn't have quite enough to beat Mater Academy East Las Vegas on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Las Vegas took Mater Academy East Las Vegas into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 18-25, 15-25, 15-9.

Las Vegas' defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Sunrise Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Sunrise Mountain might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Las Vegas when the teams last played back in September. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
