Softball Game Preview: Castor Tigers vs. Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Castor's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Castor lost 12-1 to Cedar Creek on Thursday.

Castor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylie Shirley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Jonesboro-Hodge's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against Doyline, falling 19-0.

Jonesboro-Hodge's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Castor, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Castor took their victory against Jonesboro-Hodge in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Castor since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
