Basketball Recap: Meigs Takes a Loss

Meigs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes 56-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-19 back in December of 2024.

Nelsonville-York found their leader in sophomore Madi Pidcock, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Pidcock a new career-high in steals (six). Megan Booth was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Meigs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Nelsonville-York, they moved to 4-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Meigs has already played their next game (against Hannan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Nelsonville-York will face off against Trimble at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nelsonville-York has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
