 The matchup between Cimarron and Spearville  on Thursday hardly resembled the  3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cimarron Bluejays won by a  run and slipped past the Spearville Lancers  13-12. Cimarron's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Cimarron let  Trace Kopper and  Adonis Batman loose on the outfield. Kopper  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-5, while  Batman  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. Kopper is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.  Coulter Dohrmann was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 On Spearville's side,  Austin Ruiz was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He  struck out six batters over  4.2 innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits (and only one walk). Ruiz was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Blake Werner was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-6. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ian Melendez, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Cimarron's win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 5-4. As for Spearville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cimarron beat Spearville by a score of  12-5 later that day.
