Calandria Montoya put up the most strikeouts she's had since back in March on Saturday. As a matter of fact, she turned in her biggest game of the season, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Montoya and Bernalillo are taking a road trip to take on Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans had to take a loss when they last met the Vikings, but Montoya had little to do with the loss: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
