Baseball Recap: Naperville North Wins Going Away Against Dekalb

There's no place like home for Naperville North, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let the DeKalb Barbs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Huskies yet this season.

Not much got past Yash Desai, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep DeKalb off the board. Desai also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Naperville North is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Naperville North got a big performance out of Matt Sonnenschein, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Matt Cantrell was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

With the victory, Naperville North broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4. As for DeKalb, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-2-1.

Naperville North will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Barbs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
