Basketball Recap: Oliver Martin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Neosho over Lebanon

It was a good run, but Neosho unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lebanon Yellowjackets. The Wildcats were up 33-19 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Neosho lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Oliver Martin, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 20 points along with six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Martin a new career-high in points. Kaiden Asberry was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 17 points and eight assists.

Lebanon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Boggs, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Fort, who posted 15 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Neosho now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Lebanon, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10.

Neosho has already played their next game (against Glendale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lebanon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-33 defeat against Helias on the 30th.
