Recap: Palo Alto Vikings vs. St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Palo Alto Vikings, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 28-26. Palo Alto's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, Palo Alto had strong showings from Justin Fung, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and Jason Auzenne, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Vincent de Paul to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabe Casanovas, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Mason Caturegli and his 103 yards on the ground were also a key factor in St. Vincent de Paul's victory.
St. Vincent de Paul's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Rob Rooks and his two sacks.
Palo Alto's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Palo Alto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Vincent de Paul also has no future games currently scheduled.
