Recap: Piedmont Wildcats vs. Webb City Cardinals
In what's become a running theme this season, the Piedmont Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 78-57 margin over Webb City. Given Piedmont's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 11th in Oklahoma, while Webb City is ranked 69th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Webb City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eli Pace. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Barron Duda was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Piedmont's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Webb City, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont and Capitol Hill will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Webb City will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
