Basketball Game Preview: Fairmont Prep Huskies vs. San Gabriel Academy Eagles

The Fairmont Prep Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the San Gabriel Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Fairmont Prep humbled Western Christian with an 81-37 victory. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Gabriel Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Calvary Baptist 85-28. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-11.

Fairmont Prep pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for San Gabriel Academy, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Fairmont Prep and San Gabriel Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but Fairmont Prep came up empty-handed after a 55-54 defeat. Can Fairmont Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
