Football Game Preview: Mountain View Spartans vs. King's Academy Knights + Official Tickets

The Mountain View Spartans will head out on the road to take on the King's Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View has given up an average of 40 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Mountain View came up short against Capuchino and fell 35-28. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, King's Academy came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Bearcats 28-14.

King's Academy's win came from a few key players Mountain View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ricky Gutierrez, who threw for 237 yards and three TDs while completing 76% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. 115 of Gutierrez's passing yards were hauled in by Jaiden Flores, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

King's Academy's record is now 6-1. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Mountain View might still be hurting after the 32-7 defeat they got from King's Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
