St. Bernard's Central Catholic hadn't done well against Fitchburg recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bernardians never let the Red Raiders get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Bernardians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Caden Laverdiere made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Laverdiere was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Gibbons, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Maceiko, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

St. Bernard's Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Fitchburg, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Bernard's Central Catholic will welcome Gardner at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fitchburg, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Littleton at 4:00 p.m.
