Basketball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Bountiful RedHawks

Viewmont is 1-9 against Bountiful since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Viewmont Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Bountiful RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Drezdon Jensen and Bryson Heath.

Viewmont easily dispatched Clearfield on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Viewmont fell just short of Roy by a score of 57-54 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since December 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Bountiful on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Box Elder out of the water with a 74-44 final score. The game marked the RedHawks' most dominant victory of the season.

Bountiful's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.3 points. As for Viewmont, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.

Viewmont opened the new year with a less-than-successful 66-55 loss to Bountiful. Can Viewmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
