Basketball Game Preview: Tocoi Creek Toros vs. Westside Wolverines

The Tocoi Creek Toros will face off against the Westside Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tocoi Creek has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 175 points over their last three contests.

Tocoi Creek is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Augustine just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Yellow Jackets 61-55. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Toros came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 126th).

Meanwhile, Westside hadn't done well against Orange Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Westside came out on top against Orange Park by a score of 52-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Westside has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Tocoi Creek, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-2.
