Softball Recap: Aledo Extends Home Winning Streak to 12

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Aledo had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Birdville Hawks. Considering the Bearcats have won 21 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

ADDIE PERRY was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was JORDYN EDINGTON, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Aledo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 16 consecutive games.

Aledo pushed their record up to 29-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Birdville, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 30-5.

Aledo will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
